Bucharest, Romania (AHN) – Romanians have been very vocal and public about their unhappiness with their government. Eleven days of protests became violent on Jan. 14 and Jan 15.
Protestors have taken to the streets, and social media sites have been inundated with slogans and pictures mocking the president.
Many have called for protesting without violence, and over the past several days, the protests have highlighted Romanian humor and creativity as a new weapon in expressing their anger, showing that the Romanian people can keep chuckling even during difficult times.
The newest show of indignation comes from a well-known Romanian job website BestJobs. A company called Romanian People has listed a surprising open position: President of Romania.
The job is described as full-time. The level of career is entry-level. The company, Romanian People, is recruiting from Bucharest, Brasow, Cluj, Napoca, Constanta and Lasi. The salary will be discussed at the final interview.
Responsibilities include representing Romania and its cities at national and international levels; safeguarding the country’s national independence; guarding the observance of the Constitution; and arbitrating conflicts in the legislative, judicial and executive departments.
The position comes with a five-year contract, with the possibility of an extension for another five years. No bonus should be expected, but housing is offered in the Cotrocenia area. Relocation to Bucharest is a must.
The ad went live on Jan. 21, and by midnight there were already 20 applicants.
